Mitsubishi Heavy Industries: ENEOS and explosion-proof robot development: Refinery / plant patrol inspection

-For second-generation aircraft for practical use of EX ROVR-

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries: ENEOS

Initiatives following the “Joint Research Agreement” signed in April 2018.

Based on field demonstration on prototype machine

Manipulator implementation
Due to software improvements
Improve usability and move to the practical stage.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries:

We have agreed with ENEOS Co., Ltd. to jointly develop a second-generation aircraft for the practical application of the explosion-proof robot “EX ROVR”.

Among the flammable gases
With the electric sparks and heat that you generate
Reduces the risk of explosion and fire.

Explosion-proof plant patrol inspection robot:

It was developed based on “Nuclear power plant / Robot technology that has achieved results in accident convergence support”.

It is based on “Explosion-proof design conforming to Japanese explosion-proof guidelines and European explosion-proof certification ATEX / IECEx (Note)”.

It can be used safely in dangerous places with flammable gas (Zone1).

Joint research agreement with ENEOS:

Developed a prototype machine in collaboration with ENEOS under a joint research contract until 2019.

Including movement between multiple levels within the refinery

Autonomous patrol,
Acquisition of various sensor data,
Through field demonstration
We have confirmed that the basic functional requirements are met.

This development:

To shoot facing the instrument
Manipulator implementation and
Due to software improvements, etc.
We aim to further put it into practical use as a robot with an explosion-proof function.
