NEC: “Train patrol support system”: Automatic obstacle detection with video
NEC:
Using the railroad image analysis engine developed by the Railway Technical Research Institute,
We have put into practical use a “train patrol support system” that supports railway line inspection work.
By automatically detecting obstacles from images taken from trains, safety is improved and labor is saved.
“Train patrol support system”:
Japan’s first initiative.
Video taken while driving in a commercial car
Data transfer over wireless network
Until displaying/analyzing on the ground
Systemized as a total solution.
Analyzing images of the environment along the railway
At the beginning of the train
Stereo camera and GPS,
Storage device (SSD),
Installed wireless router.
Analyze the video of the environment along the railroad track
It is possible to automatically judge whether or not the construction limit is obstructed.
By specifying the inspection inspection date and time, the route image is automatically acquired and analyzed.
Automatically organizes the images of the places where obstacles are detected and creates a report.
Improve the efficiency of the inspection work that was conventionally performed by the staff and the report creation work that was performed manually.
