Okayama Prefecture: Maniwa City

A demonstration experiment of smart farming using an automatic rice planter has begun.

Rice planting can be done automatically, leading to shortening of working hours.

Automatic rice planter:

The automatic rice planter will go straight ahead, even if you release your hand like this.

Even beginners can plant rice easily.
It is equipped with GPS, and it goes straight using location information.
In addition, the spacing between the seedlings is kept equally.
It solves the problem of labor shortage due to the decline of farmers and the aging of the population.

The project of Maniwa City was adopted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries “Development Demonstration Project for Smart Agriculture Technology”.
