GM Korea Restructuring:
In 2018, GM Technical Center Korea was established.
3000 R & D staff in South Korea have been transferred to a new corporation.
The production department was restructured, including the closure of the Gunzan factory.
The leading organization for new car development was separated.
Renault Samsung Restructuring:
Renault Samsung has also dualized its organization into production and non-production sectors.
Renault headquarters
Do not increase the production volume in South Korea any more,
Renault Samsung plans to be in charge of eco-car sales.
GM Korea and Renault Samsung:
South Korean car production costs continue to rise.
Overseas finished car manufacturers
South Korea is not a production base
There is a view that it may be a sales base.
GM Korea:

410,000 units in 2019
It continued to decrease to 350,000 units in 2020.
Production from January to August this year is 180,000 units.
Annual production is expected to fall below 300,000.
Renault Samsung:
