Explorer: For SLAS/Wireless IC tag development: Check container position/Sigfox

Explorer:

We are participating in a demonstration experiment of the quasi-zenith satellite system “MICHIBIKI”.

On June 5, announced that the parking position confirmation/new system development was successful.

Michibiki/SLAS: extremely accurate

Developed products compatible with Michibiki/Submeter-class Positioning Augmentation Service (SLAS).

With “wireless IC tag”
Using the “smartphone app for parking display”,
“Succeeded in developing a system that confirms the exact position” of trailer chassis and logistics containers (chassis, etc.)

Conventional worries: GPS error

It is thought that such problems can be solved by using GPS.

However, with the GPS positioning method, the error is 10 m.

The parking position of the chassis etc. cannot be indicated correctly.

In addition, since there is no power source in the chassis, etc., constant positioning is impossible.

This development: Wireless IC tag

Therefore, Explorer has developed a “wireless IC tag” compatible with SLAS.

This “wireless IC tag”:

Combined with the wireless standard “Sigfox”, it can be battery operated for about 3 to 5 years while it is installed on the chassis etc.

You can display the parking position by registering the parking lot/latitude/longitude in the dedicated smartphone application.

Mass production is scheduled to start in 2020.
