COVID-19: Low concentration ozone gas suppresses infection: Fujita Medical University

Fujita Medical University:

In an experiment using ozone gas, Fujita Medical University, Aichi Prefecture, announced the result that it had the effect of suppressing the infectivity of the new coronavirus.

Ozone gas:

It has been reported that a high concentration of “ozone gas” has the effect of suppressing the infectivity of the new coronavirus.

However, the problem is that it is toxic to the human body.

Professor Murata of Fujita Medical University:

Low concentration ozone gas:

In a closed container,
Put stainless steel with coronavirus attached,
Generate ozone gas in the container,
See the effect.

We conducted a low concentration experiment of “0.1 ppm”.

According to Japanese work environment standards, health is not affected.

results of the experiment:

Low concentration of “0.1ppm”:

Under the condition of 80% humidity, after 10 hours, the amount of virus was reduced to 4.6% of that without treatment.

Low concentration of “0.05ppm”:

Even when tested at “0.05 ppm,” the amount of virus was reduced to 5.7% after 20 hours.

On the other hand, at 55% humidity, the amount of virus did not decrease as much as at 80%.

Install ozone generator:

Based on the results of this experiment, Fujita Medical University will install ozone generators in waiting rooms and hospital rooms of hospitals starting next month.
