China Atomic Energy Yearbook: The reality of radioactive waste in China
-Japan’s annual tritium release is 22 trillion becquerleus every year.
-China’s annual release of tritium is 218 trillion becquerels each year-
We bring you an excerpt from Yahoo! Expert News.
Embassy of Japan in Beijing:
On July 10th of this year, the Japanese Embassy in Beijing announced the current situation of radioactive waste in Japan.
Q&A regarding treated water: (latest version)
He explained the “actual situation at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.”
How much radioactive material is mixed in?
How much treated water is being released into the ocean?

Tritium that cannot be removed by ALPS:
Japan dilutes tritium with seawater to less than 1500Bq (Becquerel)/L.
It is diluted to below regulatory standards before being released into the ocean.
Comply with WHO guidelines:
This is 1/40 of the Japanese regulatory standard value.
This is 1/7 of the WHO guidelines/drinking water standard value.
The actual situation of radioactive waste in China:
Listed in the China Atomic Energy Yearbook.
China explained the current situation regarding “wastewater containing radionuclides from nuclear facilities” in the China Atomic Energy Yearbook.
Data is listed and explained in the 2021 and 2022 editions.
Explanation of the current situation in China:
Based on IAEA international standards, China discharges wastewater containing radionuclides such as tritium into the ocean.
Incidentally, I compared Japan and China in terms of annual tritium release.
Annual amount of tritium released in Japan: 22 trillion Bq/year
At the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, “purification using ALPS and dilution treatment using seawater” is being carried out.
It was estimated that “22 trillion becquerels of tritium are released every year.”
China’s annual tritium emissions: 218 trillion becquerels each year
Japan has one-tenth of the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant’s annual emissions of 218 trillion becquerels.
Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant in Guangdong Province;
Ningde Nuclear Power Plant in Fujian Province;
Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant in Guangdong Province,
This corresponds to one-fifth of annual emissions.
China’s annual tritium emissions: breakdown in 2020 and 2021
2020:
Qinshan Third Nuclear Power Plant 143 trillion becquerels
Yange Nuclear Power Plant 122 trillion becquerels
Ningde Nuclear Power Plant 111 trillion becquerels
Benihe Nuclear Power Plant 107 trillion becquerels
2021:
Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant 218 trillion becquerels
Yange Nuclear Power Plant 112 trillion becquerels
Ningde Nuclear Power Plant 102 trillion becquerels
Benihe Nuclear Power Plant 90 trillion becquerels

Investigating the China Nuclear Power (Nuclear Energy) Yearbook:
The figures listed in the China Atomic Energy Yearbook are reprinted from the China Nuclear Capability (Nuclear Power) Yearbook.
I actually looked into the original China Nuclear Power Yearbook published by China.
2022 Yearbook: Currently not published online.
2021 Yearbook: Published online, but not searchable.

I tried to access it, but it is not possible to access it from outside. I requested access from an acquaintance in China.
Download relevant part:
The above is the relevant part of the 2021 China Nuclear Power Yearbook.
I have circled the relevant parts in red and added Japanese annotations.
Here, there are only four data points.
Data for the remaining 4 locations:
This is data from the 2022 yearbook for the same nuclear power plant.
The 2022 yearbook is currently inaccessible and evidence cannot be obtained.
What are China’s weaknesses:
China cannot tolerate “export restrictions on Japanese semiconductor manufacturing equipment.”
We cannot allow Japan to do what America tells us to do.
If this continues, China’s economy will not be able to develop.
In the future, China’s manufacturing industry will fall into a slump, and the number of unemployed people will increase.
China’s sanctions against Japan:
China recognizes that Japan is being subject to unfair trade sanctions.
China will retaliate by imposing trade sanctions on Japan.
