US: Q1 new car sales fall 2.5% year on year-Motor Intelligence

Motor Intelligence: (See Table 1)
In the first quarter (Jan-Mar) of the United States, new car sales decreased 2.5% year-on-year to 40,667 units.
This is the smallest result since the first quarter of 2015 (3.1958.228).
The average monthly converted number of vehicles (seasonally adjusted) in the first quarter was 16.91 million units, lower than the previous year’s sales results.
By major manufacturer: (See Table 2)
GM (7.0% decrease): The large pickup “Silverade” does not grow due to a model change this year.
Nissan (down 12.1%): The popular car model CUV “Rogue” decreased by two digits.
Toyota (5.0% decrease): Passenger cars fell sharply.
FCA (3.2% decrease)
Ford (1.6% decrease)
Kia (up 7.6%)
Subaru (4.7% increase)
Honda (2.0% increase)
Hyundai (2.0% increase)
Volkswagen (0.2% increase)
