Tohoku Univ: Lithium Superionic Conductive Material – Nature Communications March 6

【Point of presentation】

Developed lithium superion conducting material for all solid state batteries using high energy density lithium negative electrode.

As the all-solid battery performance, it achieves the world’s highest energy density.

By hydrogen cluster molecular structure design, lithium ion conductivity can be further improved.

【Overview】

Tohoku University Metal Materials Research Institute:

studying lithium ion conduction using a hydrogen cluster material formed from hydrogen and boron.

developed a lithium superion conducting material that conducts lithium ions at high speed by design of hydrogen cluster molecular structure.

This material shows high stability against lithium anode (high energy density).

Lithium superion conducting material:

By using it as a solid electrolyte for all solid-state batteries, battery time has been greatly improved.

The research result is the development guideline for a new solid electrolyte which becomes the key material of all solid state battery.
