Japan: 2019 ・Number of Japanese companies expanding into India: 1,454

August 31, “The list of Japanese companies in India (October 2019) was created in collaboration with JETRO.

Number of Japanese companies expanding into the country: (Refer to the attached material diagram)

1,454 companies, an increase of 0.9% (plus 13 companies) from the previous year,
The number of sites decreased by 1.6% (minus 80 sites) to 5,022 sites,
Factors that reduced the number of sites:

While the number of companies increased slightly, the number of bases decreased.

One of the reasons is that the bases were reorganized by the merger and abolition. :

Looking at the number of Japanese-affiliated companies by state,

Haryana has the most with 406 companies,
247 companies in Maharashtra
217 companies in Karnataka,
203 companies in Tamil Nadu,
Delhi territory continues with 157 companies,
Approximately 85% of all Japanese companies operating in 5 states (see attached table)

30% of total Haryana:

In particular, the number of companies in Haryana is increasing more than other states, accounting for about 30% of the total.

Close to Delhi International Airport,
Progress of modern urban development such as advanced skyscrapers
By industry: Manufacturing is the driving force

The manufacturing industry accounted for almost half, at 49.0%.
10.3% of transportation machinery and equipment,
Next is the chemical industry, 5.9%,
Electric machinery is 5.2%,
Metal products continued at 4.7%.
