⚡X-ray Harmonic Separator
– New technology creating a conventional X-ray beam that is 100 times brighter –
RIKEN (RIKEN) Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute Joint Research Team at Beamline Development devised and developed a new X-ray optical technology “Harmonic Separator” and developed X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL) Facility [1] SACLA [ 2] succeeded in creating X-ray laser beam which is 100 times brighter than before.
By combining the developed optical technology with XFEL and next generation synchrotron radiation, it will be possible to use X-rays that are two orders of magnitude brighter than ever before, realizing drastic high-throughput and faster X-ray measurement You can expect.
The results of this research will be published online (February 28) prior to publication in the British synchrotron science journal “Journal of Synchrotron Radiation” (March issue).
