Sumitomo Precision Industries / Collins Aerospace

Sumitomo Precision Industries has established Silicon Sensing Systems (Plymouth, UK) as a joint venture with Collins Aerospace.

Gyro unit: “RMU30”

We have recently developed a small 3-axis gyro unit “RMU30”.

This is a MEMS-type unit with the highest precision * 1 that can be applied to attitude measurements of small satellites.

Production of sample products will start in March 2020, and sales will begin in September 2020.

RMU30: Main features

Compact, lightweight, high accuracy and low power consumption.
The existing inertial measurement unit made by Silicon Sensing Systems is specialized in angular velocity, and it is small and lightweight.
Furthermore, the control circuit of the high-precision MEMS gyro is improved. High accuracy and low power consumption (1/3 of existing products)
Due to the characteristics of “small size, light weight, high accuracy, and low power consumption”, this gyro unit is ideal for attitude measurement of small satellites.

Manufacture: Silicon Systems Products (Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture)
Sales: Silicon Sensing Systems Japan (Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture)

<Application>

Attitude measurement of onboard cameras, etc. for small satellites, disaster-response unmanned robots, aircraft, ships, etc.

<Scheduled release date>
