Periodontal disease: Involved in Alzheimer-type dementia

The mouse liver was chronically administered with “Gingivalis bacterium (Pg bacterium), a gum that causes periodontal disease in humans and periodontal disease-causing bacteria.”

As a result, we discovered for the first time that amyloid β (Aβ), a senile plaque component in the brain, was produced.
