We will briefly introduce 25 types of important technologies.

1. Lithography

It is a technology to engrave a circuit pattern on a silicon wafer. Mostly dependent on imports.

2. Semiconductor production technology

China’s foundry is very late.
The average microcircuit process level in China is 28 nanometers.
Only SMIC is capable of 14 nanometers.

3.  PC and smartphone OS

MS, Apple, and Google are the only ones.
Huawei’s own OS is still lacking in power.

4. Engineering software

US sanctions have prevented Matlab from being used by Chinese universities and research institutes.
Aviation design software is also monopolized by the United States and Europe.

5. Database management system

Take control of Oracle, IBM and Microsoft.
China is unreliable for safety and compatibility.

6. Robot algorithm

China is the world’s largest robot producer.
Luxury robots still depend on imports.
There is no core algorithm technology.
Japan FANUC and Switzerland ABB lead.

7. Aircraft engine

China has developed its own engine CJ-1000 for military aircraft.
It is also applied to commercial aircraft, but it is still a long way off.

8. Tactile sensor

The core technology of industrial robots.
There are 100 sensor companies in China.
However, it specializes in the fields of optical and acoustic sensors.
Japan monopolizes the tactile sensor.

9. Vacuum deposition machine

There are no companies in China that produce evaporators.
After all, Japan monopolizes the luxury market.

10. Mobile phone radio frequency device

Huawei succeeds in developing its own smartphone radio frequency semiconductor technology.
However, the luxury product market is dominated by US companies.

11. Medium gas turbine

GE, Mitsubishi and Siemens take control of the industry for medium-sized marine gas turbines.
China has begun assembling a class F 50 MW medium-sized gas turbine in 2019.
It will be installed on Chinese ships in 2021.

12. High pressure plunger pump

The plunger serves to fuel the turbine engine
China’s turbine engine market is the second largest in the world.
However, 90% or more of high-pressure plunger pumps with a rated pressure of 35 MPa or more are imported.

13. High pressure common rail system

The system used for diesel engines.
Germany, the United States, and Japan dominate the high-pressure field.

14. microscope

Transmission electron microscopes and scanning electron microscopes are basic equipment used for advanced technology research.
Only three companies, JEOL Ltd., Hitachi, and FEI in the US, produce transmission electron microscopes.
Scanning electron microscopes made in China have less than 10% share in the Chinese market.

15. High-grade capacitors and resistors

China is the world’s largest producer of electronic components.
However, the technical capabilities of the precision equipment field are low.

16. Indium tin oxide (ITO) material

Used for LED chips and optical coatings.
Only low-priced products are made in China.
The US and Japan dominate the high-priced market.
China is being pushed by material purity.

17. Luxury milling cutters and bearings

Luxury milling cutters are still being imported.
Bearings are monopolized by Timken and SKF.

18. Microsphere (microcapsule)

China’s LCD panel shipments are 33% of the world’s, which is the highest in the world.
Only Japanese companies can provide the core materials for microspheres and conductive fittings.

19. Underwater connector

Underwater connector used for submarines.
If imports are banned, China’s submarine observation network may be suspended.

Chuten Kagaku is developing a 2000-meter submersible plug-type electric connector.

20. Fuel cell

The core material of hydrogen vehicles.
Core materials and parts still depend on imports.

21. High-grade welding power supply device

China is the world’s largest manufacturer of welding power supplies.
But power supplies are still being imported.

22. Medical video equipment parts

This is an area where technological development has been particularly delayed.
The core parts of China’s medical video equipment depend on imports.

23. Ultra-precision polishing process

It is monopolized by US and Japanese companies.
It’s not easy to catch up with the finest equipment.

24. High-grade epoxy resin

High-grade carbon fiber parts produced in China are made from imported high-grade epoxy resin.

25. iCLIP technology

It is a technique used for single nucleotide degradation.

Most technologies:

If you look at the items, you can see that the majority of technologies are the only ones in the United States, Japan, and Germany.

South Korea does not have these technologies either.
