Mitsubishi Shipbuilding: LNG fuel ferry
Mitsubishi Shipbuilding of the MHI Group has signed a contract with MOL for the construction of two Japan’s first LNG-fueled ferries.
The LNG fuel ferry will be built at Shimonoseki Shipyard and delivered in early 2023.
After that, it will enter service on the Osaka-Beppu route of ‘Ferry Sunflower Co., Ltd.’.

The ship is about 199.9m long, 28.0m wide,
About 17,300 tons of gross tonnage,
