Shimizu Corporation is working with Vietnamese government agency “NACCET”

National Action Center for Chemical and Environmental Treatment: Responsible for environmental issues throughout Vietnam.

An on-site type soil cleaning plant and cleaning treatment test was completed at a verification test of dioxin-contaminated soil derived from defoliants at Bien Hoa Airport.

“A report showing that the decontamination effect was confirmed as originally expected” was submitted to the government agency.

Demonstration test: purification of contaminated soil

It complies with the technology selection process of the soil remediation project (promoted by the Vietnamese government and the US government) for Bien Hoa Airport.

The two governments will consider whether to adopt a full-scale decontamination project that will start in June 2020.

In June 2018, a memorandum of understanding was concluded with NACCET’s predecessor organization, CTET (CENTER FOR TECHNOLOGY OF ENVIRONMENTAL TREATMENT), for joint implementation of demonstration tests.
