VOLTA: Free EV quick charging service

On October 1, VOLTA (San Francisco) announced that it would start a free charging service using a DC quick charger *.

The first quick charge / free service in the United States.

Installed this time: Charging equipment

You can charge up to 350 miles (approx. 560 km) of power in one hour.

This service is free:

“Up to 175 miles (280 km): 30 minutes of charging” is free.

With this service, the average driver can save $ 1,155 in fuel consumption per year.

Since 2010, the company has been advertising sponsored companies on charging equipment.

In other words, the cost of charging is covered by advertising fees.

Currently, a free service is provided for low-power charging facilities (level 2).

In the future, we will expand the range of free services to high-output charging facilities.

New service:

Start from the second half of October 2019.

Conducted in Norwalk, Connecticut.

In the next year

Los Angeles,
San Francisco,
Chicago,
Washington DC etc.
It will be deployed in 150 major US cities.
