Taurine: Helps prevent aging!

-Confirmed in animal experiments, the effect on humans is unknown-

A report from the latest article in the Yomiuri Shimbun

International team at Columbia University:

Animal experiments confirmed that taurine is promising for anti-aging.

On June 8th, it will be announced in the scientific journal Science.

However, its effectiveness in humans remains unknown until it is tested in clinical trials.

What is taurine:

It has the effect of reducing cholesterol and strengthening liver function.

What the team experimented with:

They analyzed blood samples from mice, rhesus monkeys, and humans, and confirmed that taurine levels decrease with age.

results of the experiment:

The treated group had increased bone density and bone mass.

Substances indicating deterioration of pancreatic and liver function decreased, and deterioration of the body due to aging was improved.

Professor Takashi Ito of Fukui Prefectural University

This is an important result that clarifies that taurine is involved in anti-aging in monkeys.

—a nutrient produced in the body and found in many foods—

is a driver of aging in animals, according to a new study led by Columbia researchers and involving dozens of aging researchers around the world.

The same study also found that taurine supplements can slow down the aging process in worms, mice, and monkeys and can even extend the healthy lifespans of middle-aged mice by up to 12%.
