From April 2021, the 5G driving test of the “VISION-S” prototype was started on the test course in Aldenhofen, Germany. (Announced on April 21)
VISION-S Prototype:
An electric vehicle (EV) concept car developed in-house by Sony.
This test vehicle:
Equipped with a connection function to a 5G network.
The in-vehicle system and the cloud are always connected.
Data / control signal synchronization:
“Wireless software update” is possible by OTA (Over the Air).
In the driving test:
Of various sensor data acquired from the vehicle
Low-latency transmission to the cloud,
Real control of the vehicle from the cloud,
Collect and verify various sensor data.
Open Partnership:
Sony will expand its open partnership through VISION-S initiatives.
Actively promote collaboration with companies with technology and know-how globally.
