Smart Agri: Introducing GPS automatic rice transplanter:
Automatic rice transplanter:
Nagahama City held a demonstration with local JA and others.
Promote “smart agriculture” to improve efficiency with the latest technology.
What is an automatic rice transplanter?
GPS to confirm the position and
Install an obstacle detection sensor,
Register the shape of the rice field in advance.
Seedlings are planted according to the shape, and if there are obstacles, they will stop automatically.
By automatically adjusting the number of seedlings,
Can be planted cleanly to the edge
Work accuracy is higher than that of a rice transplanter on which people ride.

Smart Agri: Memperkenalkan pencangkok padi otomatis GPS:
Transplanter padi otomatis:
Pasang sensor pendeteksi rintangan,
Daftarkan bentuk sawah terlebih dahulu.

An automatic rice transplanterhas been demonstrated in a paddy field in western Japan.City officials and a local agricultural cooperative in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, organized the event.About 30 farmers and otherswatched the robotic rice transplanter go through its paces on Tuesday. The self-driving machineis equipped with a global positioning system, or GPS, and sensors to detect obstacles. It transplants rice seedlings automatically following input of information about the size and shape of the paddy field. When it senses an obstacle, it stops.Even when a field is not perfectly square, the machine can adjust the number of seedlings to beautifully transplant the entire field. The maker of the machine saysit is more accurate than a manned rice transplanter.A local farmer saidthe machine is very accurate and it will likely help save labor and reduce the number of workers by at least one.He said rice-planting usually requires two or three workers.A city official saidhe wants to tell young people that “smart agriculture” can boost efficiency in farming so more people will enter the industry.NHK WORLD-JAPAN News
