NICT: the world’s first demonstration experiment of practical multiparameter phased array / weather radar (MP-PAWR) started
MP-PAWR is a phased array weather radar (PAWR) capable of high-speed three dimensional observation of rain clouds from 30 seconds to 1 minute.
This weather radar has the function of multi parameter (dual polarization) radar which can measure rainfall with high accuracy. ,
The research group predicts guerilla heavy rain up to 30 minutes ahead using MP-PAWR.
