◆ MHIA is in charge of basic design and licensing of the system that recovers CO2 from the exhaust gas of the LNG liquefaction plant.

◆ MHIENG adopts CO2 capture technology “KM CDR Process TM” jointly developed with Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc.

We will design the basic design of the CO2 capture system and license the CO2 capture technology.

It is planned to be constructed in the future after considering the economic efficiency.

Applying technology for capturing and storing CO2 from exhaust gas to commercial LNG liquefaction plants.

This is the world’s first initiative.

CO2 capture technology:

We aim to reduce LNG carbon (Low Carbon LNG) by adopting “KM CDR ProcessTM”.

We expect to reduce CO2 emissions by 5 million tons annually, including the amount recovered during the gas refining process.

– NextDecade Corporation (NextDecade) (NASDAQ: NEXT) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA), part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, have announced today that

they have signed an engineering services agreement (ESA) for the design, license, and performance guarantee of the KM CDR ProcessTM,

a post-combustion carbon capture technology to be applied at NextDecade‘s Rio Grande LNG project in the Port of Brownsville, Texas.
