MIRAI: Equipped with a 110kg hydrogen tank

-The mileage is extended by 30%-

MIRAI
Hydrogen storage system

It can travel up to about 850km with one filling.

The biggest reason for extending the cruising range by 30% is the increase in hydrogen loading (Fig. 1).

2nd generation
New Mirai

The new Mirai will be equipped with three hydrogen tanks.
The first Mirai was equipped with two hydrogen tanks.
The amount of hydrogen loaded has been increased from 4.6 kg to 5.6 kg.

3 hydrogen tanks:

One is placed vertically in the center tunnel.

The remaining two were placed horizontally in front of and behind the rear axle (rear axle) (Fig. 2).

The one installed in the center tunnel is the longest.

Uses SiC power semiconductors:

For fuel cell (FC) systems,

A SiC (Silicon Carbide) power semiconductor device was used to increase efficiency by 10%.
