US Aviation Industry Group: Airlines for America (A4A)

On June 15, a major US airline, a member company, announced that it will strengthen the mask wearing/mandatory requirements for passengers and passengers.

Airlines that introduce this policy:

Alaska Airlines,
American Airlines,
Delta Air Lines,
Hawaiian Airlines,
Jet Blue Airlines,
Southwest Airlines,
United Airlines.

Passengers using the above airlines/airliners are required to wear masks at all times during boarding.

If a passenger violates the obligation to wear a mask, measures will be taken including suspension of acceptance as a passenger.

Current situation:

In reality, the mask/requirement policy for passengers was not thoroughly enforced.

Therefore, passengers who did not wear masks were conspicuous on the plane.

Major U.S. Airlines Announce Increased Enforcement of Face Coverings

WASHINGTON,

June 15, 2020

Today, Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization representing the leading U.S. airlines, announced

that its member carriers will be vigorously enforcing face covering policies, putting rigor around rules requiring passengers and customer-facing employees to wear facial coverings over their nose and mouth.

This is one critical element of the multiple layers that A4A carriers are implementing to mitigate risk and protect passengers and crew.
