China: NASA-like landing video: alleged copy?

China: NASA-like landing video: alleged copy?

-Suspicion of landing video released by China-

Chinese spacecraft “Tianwen-1”:

On May 15, the spacecraft “Tianwen-1” equipped with the Chinese Mars rover “Zhurong” landed on Mars.

It is a historic achievement with the successful landing of the third country after the former Soviet Union and the United States.

Chinese CG video:

Chinese aviation authorities have since released a “CG video showing the landing process.”

However, it is controversial that “CG video looks exactly like the old video of NASA in the US.”

2-minute video:

Chinese state media broadcast a two-minute video.

For a 2-minute video,

The lander was separated from the orbiter,
While controlling the aircraft
Landing on the surface of Mars, etc.

Some important moments are depicted.

CASC makes a video:

the video was created by the 5th Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).

This suspicious video:

The video was released the day after “Zhurong” successfully landed on Mars.

Some people who saw this pointed out that it was “similar to the CG video produced by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in 2011.”

Criticism of “plagiarism”:

It looks like “multiple parts of this CG video are exactly the same”.

In response to the explanation that “CASC referred to the NASA video”

“Voice accusing plagiarism” is rising on SNS.

“Publishing such a video is an act of degrading China’s space development program,” they posted.
