Sumitomo Chemical: Development of cobalt-free / LiB positive electrode material – applied to all solid state batteries
Sumitomo Chemical:
Wearing a prospect to commercialization of cobalt-free ternary lithium ion secondary battery (LiB) cathode material.
By suppressing the structure of a single crystal that has not been used in the past, it reduces outgassing.
Furthermore, it is possible to achieve compatibility between safety and high capacity.
Cobalt-free ternary lithium ion secondary battery (LiB) Positive electrode material:
Tanaka Chemical Laboratory: In charge of hydroxide (precursor)
Sumitomo Chemical: In charge of firing process (utilizing inorganic technology)
This positive electrode material also features good compatibility with all solid state batteries.
Samples will be shipped in FY 2019.
