Chubu Electric: Mitsubishi､ to Acquire UK Submarine Transmission Line: Priority Negotiation Right

On February 27, the company announced that it had acquired the right to operate a submarine power transmission line / first negotiations over offshore wind farms in the UK.

The offshore wind farm operates 120 kilometers off the east coast of the UK and has a power output of approximately 1.2 million kilowatts.
“The asset size of operating transmission lines and substation facilities” is about 170 billion yen.
Over 25 years from FY2021, the company will transmit offshore wind power operated by another operator and earn revenue from contracted transmission.
This is Mitsubishi’s ninth UK submarine power transmission line management business.
Mitsubishi Corporation invests 51% and Chubu Electric Power owns 49%.
