Terra drone: Petrobras checks FPSO with drone: Development of Brazilian oil field “pre-salt”
Terra drone: Brazil
Taking advantage of the drone, we completed an FPSO visual inspection owned by Petrobras, the country’s largest oil company.
FPSO: Oil field “pre-salt”
Petrobras is developing a large-scale oil field “pre-salt” off the southeastern part of Brazil.
The success of offshore equipment inspection by this drone is the first in Brazil.
This work:
Two workers complete inspection of two tanks in FPSO in one hour.
Based on high-precision image and video data taken by drone, detailed report creation of 40 inspection points.
As a result, corrosion, cracks and breakage in the tank can be identified, and the improvement of safety and the improvement of maintenance efficiency are demonstrated.
Conventional work:
A 4-person worker visually checks the tank using a rope.
It took half a day to check the whole day.
Inspection work at heights is dangerous.
By using the drone to check the tank, the workers do not have to check in the tank.
Drone utilization:
We have succeeded in reducing the inspection time, which took about half a day to a full day, to about one hour.
