Nissan Altima Recalled Over Fire and Stall Risks

Nissan is recalling 23,903 of its 2019 Altima sedans to fix an improperly installed hose that could lead to a fuel leak, raising the risk of a fire or an engine stall, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety

Vehicles recalled: 23,903 of the 2019 Nissan Altima sedans manufactured from May 25, 2018 through Oct. 30, 2018.

The problem: A clip that connects the vehicle’s fuel line to its fuel pump may not have been locked into position properly during assembly. If it partly disconnects, there’s the potential for a fuel leak, which could lead to a fire. If it completely disconnects, it could cut off the fuel supply to the engine and cause the car to stall.

NHTSA campaign number: 18V922
