KUREHA invests in Cambridge Touch Tech: develops next-generation 3DX3 multi-touch sensor

July 23, 2019

Kureha Corporation:

Kureha Co., Ltd. is funded by Cambridge Touch Technologies ILimited.

We announce that we have invested as a Lead Investor (X1 Series B).

CTT: Cambridge Touch Technologies

CTT is a startup company from Cambridge University, UK.

developing a next-generation 3DX3 multi-touch sensor with a simple architecture by combining a unique signal analysis algorithm and a piezoelectric film * 2.

Because this sensor has a simple configuration, cost reduction can be expected.

Series B funding:

With the funding of Series B, we will accelerate development speed more than ever.

We will develop applications for electronic devices, such as smartphones and displays for vehicles.

KUREHA: Piezoelectric film “KF Piezo”

KUREHA has produced vinylidene fluoride resin (PVDF) since 1970.

As a development of applications for this resin, we have sold a piezoelectric film “KF Piezo” that has been subjected to drawing processing etc.

CTT: Next-generation 3D multi touch sensor

From 2016, KUREHA’s piezoelectric film “KF Piezo” is used to support CTT’s next-generation 3D multi-touch sensor development.

※ 1 series B

Following the first round of funding in December 2016, two rounds of funding for development acceleration.
