COVID-19: South Korea and Romania, Vaccine Swap: Exchange for medical devices
-Romania with the lowest inoculation rate in the EU-
South Korea and Romania:
Recently, it has started discussions with South Korea to exchange the new coronavirus vaccine of Moderna for medical devices.
There is a lot of interest in the background.
Romania:
Denmark and Ireland:
Previously, it sold about 1 million doses of vaccine to Denmark and Ireland.
Tunisia and Vietnam:
However, it is provided free of charge to Tunisia and Vietnam.
This is interpreted as a “vaccine refusal” prevailing in Romania.
Oxford University, UK
Statistics site:
Confirmed on August 23 in Our World in Data.
As of August 20, Romania has 26.23% of its population completed.
Romanian inoculation rate:
The inoculation rate is the lowest in the European Union (EU).
Much lower than the average of 55.51%.
The inoculation started in December last year
It ’s the earliest in the EU,
The speed of inoculation has not increased easily.
Romanian decision:
Romanian people have a deep-rooted distrust of government agencies,
Vaccine rejection has become widespread, including the spread of false information about vaccines.
South Korea fails to introduce vaccine:
South Korea has failed to introduce a preemptive vaccine.
Even six months after the start of inoculation
Supply is not keeping up with demand.
Conflicting situations between the two countries:
It seems that it led to “exchange talks between Romanian moderna vaccine and Korean medical devices”.

Eastern European Populations Rejecting COVID-19 Vaccine as Demand Wanes in Places like Romania
Apparently, Eastern European countries are rethinking
the vaccine-centric strategy to eradicate COVID-19 that’s gripped most of the world’s governments.
Vaccination rates appear to fall across this part of Europe, as Romania proves to be a case in point.
Andrei Baciu, Romanian deputy health minister, reports
the nation has suspended vaccine deliveries except for doses from Johnson & Johnson.
While this Eastern European nation
has received 16 million doses of various western-produced vaccine products, under 55% are in fact used.
