Chinese military: Two UAVs pass between Nansei Islands!
– TB-001 reconnaissance/attack drone and BZK-005 patrol aircraft –
Ministry of Defense of Japan:
“Two Chinese military drones flew between two islands in southwestern Japan,” it said Thursday.
On Friday, a “TB-001 reconnaissance and attack drone and his BZK-005 patrol aircraft”
They said It flew over the sea area between Okinawa main island and Miyakojima.
They said the drones came from the direction of the East China Sea and flew to the Pacific.
The officials said the aircraft went to training zones that China has designated to the east and south of Taiwan, and stayed there for a while.
Later, the drones flew between the two Japanese islands again, and headed towards China.
They also said another drone likely to be from China was detected in China’s training zone northeast of Taiwan.
Japan’s Air Self-Defense Force scrambled fighter aircraft in response.
The officials said the drones did not enter Japan’s airspace.
The ministry suspects the drones’ activities were linked to China’s military drills that started on Thursday.
