British shell: To withdraw from “Sakhalin 2”:

British oil giant Shell:
On February 28, it announced a policy to withdraw from the oil and gas development project “Sakhalin 2” in the Russian Far East.

The annual LNG production capacity of Sakhalin 2 is 10 million tons, which is more than 10% of Japan’s imports.
Eight Japanese electric power and gas companies such as JERA and Tokyo Gas procure 50% of them under long-term contracts.
