Australia (ACCC): Approval for Asahi’s acquisition of Australian beer CUB: AUD16 billion (1.888 trillion yen)

On April 1, a statement was issued that the company would not oppose the plan to acquire Japan / Asahi GHD’s Australia / CUB business.
Asahi Group Holdings (GHD)
The acquisition of Carlton and United Breweries, the leading brand in the Australian beer market, has been officially approved.
In July 2019, it announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire the CUB business from beer giant Anheuser-Busch InBeb for A $ 16 billion (1,808 billion yen).
Asahi GHD has announced that it will postpone the completion of the acquisition from the first quarter of 2020 (January to March) to the second quarter of the same year (April to June).
The acquisition is expected to be completed with the approval of the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB).
Japanese companies: acquisition of Australian business
Typically, if the asset value is A $ 1,192 million or more, it will be considered by the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIBR).
