We have developed a flexible all-solid-state battery that can be used even when bent.

Even if it is turned off during discharge, it does not ignite and continues to discharge.

Flexible all-solid-state battery:

Using 18 laminated batteries,

With a storage capacity of 440 mA / h,

Similar to liquid lithium-ion batteries,
Confirmed the same performance as LIB.

In the future, we will improve durability and performance and propose batteries for wearable terminals.

Structure of all-solid-state battery:

Ultra-thin glass fiber is used as a separator.

“A structure in which a solid polymer electrolyte and an electrode current collector are stacked on both sides of a separator” was adopted.

Solving traditional problems:

Conventional:

When the positive electrode material and the glass fiber come into direct contact,

As charging and discharging are repeated, metallic lithium precipitates and short-circuits.

this time:

A thin coat of solid polymer electrolyte solved this problem.

All-solid-state battery material:

Three-layer structure thickness
The thickness of the three-layer structure of the separator and the solid polymer electrolyte is 40 micrometers.

Glass fiber
A commercially available product for FRP was used. There is an advantage that the manufacturing technology is established.

electrode
Uses the same as a lithium-ion battery.
Energy density etc. do not change.

Charging / discharging even when bent:

A solid electrolyte is used.

No liquid leakage even if the battery is damaged.
During the discharge, it continued to discharge even if it was cut with scissors.
It can be charged and discharged even when bent.

We confirmed the charge / discharge performance of a dozen times and demonstrated the operating principle of the new battery.
