Lockheed Selects OSI Maritime Systems to Develop LCS Navigation Mgmt Tech
Lockheed Martin has chosen OSI Maritime Systems to produce a navigation management system for use on the U.S. Navy‘s future Freedom-variant Littoral Combat Ships, for which Lockheed is the prime contractor.
OSI said Wednesday it will provide the Integrated Bridge and Navigation System that is designed to integrate with warships and comply with the American Bureau of Shipping Class Rules for Navigational Integrated Bridge System.
Kongsberg to Provide U.S. Army with Additional Weapon Stations.
Kongsberg signed a $39.8 million order to further furnish the U.S. Army with a battle tank remote weapon station system.
The company said Friday that it will deliver additional PROTECTOR Remote Weapon Station Low Profile Commonly Remotely Operated Weapon Station configuration for the U.S. Army’s M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank spare parts and engineering services program.

NASA TV to Broadcast Departure of Cygnus Cargo Spacecraft from ISS.
An Orbital ATK-built spacecraft is scheduled to depart the International Space Station on Wednesday after a cargo delivery effort to perform secondary missions.
NASA said Friday Cygnus will be detached from ISS’ Unity module with the Canadarm2 robotic arm, then the vehicle will be maneuvered over the Harmony module to collect data that will support future rendezvous and docking operations involving the latter module.

A business unit of Tyonek Native Corporation has received a potential $16 million contract to install a technology for the U.S. Air Force to monitor the performance of the military branch’s UH-1N Huey helicopter fleet.
Tyonek Global Services will support the integration of a health and usage monitoring system into the utility helicopter platform under the firm-fixed-price, cost-reimbursable contract, the Defense Department said Friday.

The French Armed Forces Ministry takes delivery of its first MMPs – MBDA.
MBDA has delivered the initial set of 50 missiles and 20 firing posts needed for the French armed forces’ new man-portable weapon system.
The company said Thursday it developed the MMP missile system to incrementally replace the Milan, HOT and ERYX anti-tank missiles that are currently in service with France’s military.
The French defense procurement agency aims to procure a total of 400 firing posts and 1,750 missiles through 2025.
