Takeda Gets Japanese Antitrust Approval for Shire Deal

Tokyo, Oct. 18 (Jiji Press)–Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. <4502> said Thursday that it has received approval from the Japan Fair Trade Commission for its planned acquisition of Irish industry peer Shire PLC.

The acquisition has already received antitrust clearance in the United States, Brazil and China, while awaiting approval from the European Union.
