“Jeeves” in Spotlight in Japan after Empress’ Comment
Tokyo, Oct. 27 (Jiji Press)–Publishers in Japan have been flooded with orders for the “Jeeves” series novels by British author P.G. Wodehouse,
partly because Japanese Empress Michiko cited them as books she wants to read after her retirement in line with Emperor Akihito’s abdication next April.
In the novels, Jeeves, a capable valet, resolves problems happening to his young master.
The late mother of British Queen Elizabeth II was believed to a fan of the popular novels.
