According to the 2019 edition “Economic Freedom Index (Note)” announced on January 25,
Hong Kong has become the country / region with the highest degree of economic freedom for 25 consecutive years.
Hong Kong continued to be 90.2 points from 2018, exceeding the world average (60.8 points) by 29.4 points.
Of the 12 items in Hong Kong,
“Property rights”
“Freedom of Business”
“Government expenditure”
“Tax burden”
“Financial soundness”
“Freedom of trading”
‘Freedom of Investment’
“Economic freedom”
It was over 90 points in 8 items.
Japan continues to be 30th in 2018
89.4 points in Singapore in second place
New Zealand 84.4 points in third place
Swiss 81.9 points in fourth place
The fifth place is Australia 80.9 points
Japan is 72.1 points (down 0.2 points)
ranked 30th in 2018, and ranked eighth among 43 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
