Discover lipase gene that contributes to plant high temperature tolerance
The RIKEN integrated metabolomics research group found a new lipase gene “plants are essential for relieving stress under high temperature stress environment”.
Climate change caused by global warming in recent years has raised the possibility that plants are subjected to high temperature stress more frequently.
The results of this research can be expected to contribute to the development of technology to improve the high temperature stress tolerance of crops.
The results were published online (July 2nd: Japan time July 2) prior to publication of the US science magazine “The Plant Cell”.
