Continental Structural Plastics Holdings Corporation (Teijin Group) produces, sells and develops lightweight composite products.

“CSP” GF-SMC has been adopted by Ford’s new model.

* 1 GF-SMC: Abbreviation for Glass Fiber-Sheet Molding Compound. A molding material in which a glass fiber is impregnated with a thermosetting resin to form a sheet.

Ford and CSP:

We aim to greatly improve NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness), which is an evaluation item for automobile comfort.

Co-developed the world’s first double-walled composite engine shroud (dual wall dashboard) using GF-SMC materials.

“Dual Wall Dashboard”:

It will be installed on the Ford Explorer 2020 model, which Ford will begin rolling out in North America this summer.
