The research group made an ideal all solid state battery using LiCoO2 epitaxial thin film [Terminology 4], utilizing thin film fabrication and vacuum technology (Fig. 1).

An important step toward practical application by giving guidelines for development of all solid state batteries

Surface X-ray diffraction:

A method of determining the atomic arrangement at the surface or interface by measuring the intensity distribution of X rays scattered by irradiating the surface or the interface with X rays.

It is characterized by being able to measure the sample nondestructively.
