Mitsubishi Electric: Main motor for Dutch Railway Order received: Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles
Mitsubishi Electric:
Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A. (CAF: Spanish railroad car manufacturer) has received an order for the main motor (88 trains, 302 cars) for the Dutch railway vehicle “Sprinter New Generation”.
The company has so far received a total of 206 trains and 706 trains for Dutch Railway vehicles.
Taking advantage of orders, we will further strengthen our rail vehicle electrical equipment business in the European market.

In fiscal 2014, we received an order from CAF for 404 electric vehicles (3 cars x 68 trains and 4 cars x 50 trains) for the Dutch railway vehicle “Sprinter New Generation”. Commercial operation has already started, contributing to safe and stable operation.
In addition to this track record, the proposal for energy savings through smaller and lighter weight and regenerative braking was highly evaluated by the Dutch Railway and CAF.
