A full-scale operation of a basic research center (Rohto Advanced Research Hong Kong) in Hong Kong will begin in January 2020.
Rohto Hong Kong was established in September 2019 in Hong Kong Science Park (Hong Kong Science Park).
We will pursue research in cutting-edge fields centering on regenerative medicine.
Hong Kong expansion: 4 reasons
We asked Mr. Kobayashi, President of Rohto Hong Kong, for the reason for establishing the base in Hong Kong.
(1) Cantonese / English is the official language and communication is easy
(2) recruit excellent human resources,
(3) Adjacent to mainland China, access from Hong Kong to China,
(4) Support from the Hong Kong government and HKSTP (Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, Hong Kong Science Park Operator),

Postdoc Hub: Support System
Assist in hiring PhDs.
Up to two PhD holders can subsidize up to HK $ 32,000 per month (approximately 450,000 yen) per person for up to 36 months.
Researcher Program: Payment system
Bachelor’s degree / up to HK $ 18,000 / month
Master’s degree / up to HK $ 21,000 per month
Each is paid for up to 36 months (one each).
HKSTP: generous support
Each company has its own HKSTP staff.
It has a strong support system for responding to laws and permits, applying for subsidies, and so on.
Hong Kong Science Park has an extensive joint laboratory.
Expensive equipment is also available at a reasonable price.
You can exchange various opinions with other companies in the park.
