How was Monsanto the world’s largest seed company trying to protect the controversial herbicide? It was partly revealed by e – mails released during the trial. In a trial over a couple of years, the plaintiffs claimed that Monsanto’s herbicide “Roundup” (generic name glyphosate) caused cancer and asked for damages against the company. The plaintiffs’ law firm has published hundreds of pages of e-mails and in-house documents of Monsanto employees related to glyphosate this week.
