On October 10, 2019, a briefing session was held in Sakai City, Chiba Prefecture.
Announced that it has developed a third-generation “in-wheel motor that can be powered wirelessly while driving”.
Wireless power supply: demonstration
Installed a power transmission coil on the campus of the University of Tokyo.
We demonstrated how a vehicle equipped with an in-wheel motor charges while driving.
Motor and
inverter,
converter,
Resonant capacitor,
A type with a cooling system that has been downsized and housed in tires, with higher output than before.
Two types of power receiving coils that were housed in tires were shown.
Motor output per wheel increased from 12kW to 25kW, and charging output increased from 12kW to 20kW.
It will be evaluated by vehicles including tires by 2022, and will be transferred to a demonstration test in 2025.
