💰SoftBank Forms JV to Hold 8,000 U.S. Cellular Sites with Lendlease

Sydney-based Lendlease Group formed a joint venture with Japan-based SoftBank Group Corporation to acquire and own telecommunication infrastructure assets in the United States. The joint venture is being called Lendlease Towers.

Temasek Participates in Series D in Augmented Reality Startup Magic Leap

Singapore’s Temasek Holdings participated in a Series D venture funding round in the mysterious startup Magic Leap, Inc., which is working on mixed reality technologies. The funding round apparently was US$ 502 million, giving a post-money valuation of roughly US$ 5 billion. Other investors in the round include EDBI of Singapore, Janus Henderson Investors and Brazil-based Grupo Globo. Return backers include Alibaba Group, Fidelity Management and Research Company, Google, J.P. Morgan Investment Management, and T. Rowe Price.
Magic Leap is a Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based company working on augmented reality applications. Magic Leap still hasn’t come out with a commercial product for consumers.
