ES and ESA Set Up New Government Satcom Platform .

An SES-led industry consortium has partnered with the European Space Agency to establish a platform for government organizations to access and secure satellite communications.

The public-private partnership aims to demonstrate potential applications of the Pacis-1 satcom platform to border control, civil protection, humanitarian missions and maritime surveillance missions, SES said Tuesday.

Boeing joint venture preps to overhaul Saudi Apache helicopter fleet

A Saudi Arabia-based joint venture between Boeing, Alsalam Aircraft and Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries will offer maintenance, repair and overhaul support for the country’s fleet of rotorcraft aircraft, Defense News reported Tuesday.

Neil Bevan, CEO of the Saudi Rotorcraft Support Company, said work under the contract will cover support for Apache aircraft at the company’s rotorcraft maintenance facility in Riyadh over the next two years.

New Zealand Ministry of Education Chooses Unisys for a New Modern Cloud-Based Education Resourcing Management System

Unisys has been selected to develop a cloud-based technology platform for New Zealand’s ministry of education to manage and distribute funds to childhood, primary and secondary schools in the country.

The company said Wednesday it will build and deploy an automated education resourcing system for the ministry using an application-platform-as-a-service model under the 10-year digital transformation engagement initiative.

Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $10.7 million delivery order to help the U.S. Navy update mission computers of the H-1 aircraft fleet.

The company will incorporate 54 technical refresh mission computers into the H-1 production line, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

The firm-fixed-price order falls under a previously issued basic ordering agreement and work runs through May 2020.

Georgia – Javelin Missiles and Command Launch Units | The Official Home of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency

The State Department has approved a potential $75 million foreign military sale of Javelin missile systems and command launch units to Georgia.

Georgia requested to buy 410 Javelin missiles, 72 Javelin command launch units, 10 basic skills trainers, 70 simulated rounds as well as government and contractor technical assistance, transportation, logistics and program support services, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Monday.

DSCA noted that a joint venture between Raytheon and Lockheed Martin will serve as the prime contractor on the proposed sale.
