South Korea to begin series-production of locally developed KTSSM tactical missile system

South Korea’s Defense Project Promotion Committee

has decided that series-production of the locally developed Korean Tactical Surface to Surface Missile (KTSSM) system will begin in 2020.

A statement issued on 25 November by the country’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA)

said the committee, which is headed by the Minister of National Defense Suh Wook,

approved plans to acquire at least 200 missiles, which have an estimated range of about 120 km, under a project budgeted at KRW320 billion (USD289 million)

that is expected to be completed by 2025.
