Toyota Tsusho: NEC

We jointly developed an automated system for measuring the size of farmed fish for juvenile bluefin tuna (Yokowa).

Toyota Tsusho:

Toyota Tsusho / completely-cultivated bluefin tuna breeding business company started operations from May 1.

Tuna Dream Goto and Tuna Dream Okinawa are being conducted.

Tuna Dream Goto / Tuna Dream Okinawa:

The size of farmed fish in aquaculture is important information in determining the amount of feed and the time of landing.

Traditional method:

When measuring the size, the video footage in the Ikesu frame is advanced.

Also, you have to manually specify the measurement points one by one.

Up until now, work efficiency and poor measurement accuracy have been major problems.

This time:

With more accurate information, you can determine the amount of feed and the time of landing.

This will greatly improve the productivity of the aquaculture industry.

NEC technology:

We utilized the advanced AI and IoT technologies of NEC.

NEC developed a cultured fish size measurement system in 2018, and has now improved it.

In the conventional system, only bluefin tuna / adult fish of 60 cm or more were targeted.

With this system, the measurement target size has been expanded to over 20 cm.
